Imperial War Museum North, Manchester
Often having unique and compelling exhibitions, the Imperial War Museum North offers your family the opportunity to learn about the effects of war, particularly in the North West, and there are craft days, workshops and special events throughout the year, making this both educational and fun for all the family. The museum has a gift shop, and there are some fantastic places to eat and shop nearby.
Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire
This famous country house built in the early 18th century has some of the most stunning gardens in the UK. There is a miniature farm, a playground for the children, a maze and even a butterfly house. There are events and exhibitions throughout the year where you can learn about historical figures such as Winston Churchill. You can also have a spot of lunch outside taking in the spectacular gardens surrounding you.
The London Dungeon
A day out here is both educational and amazing fun, and audiences have been captivated for over 40 years. There are fantastic actors, special effects, scary rides and more during your walkthrough experience and adventure. You get to see, hear, feel and smell with interactive shows spanning 1,000 years of London history, including Jack the Ripper and Sweeney Todd.
