If you’ve recently welcomed a new edition to the family, it might be time to take a look at the vehicle you currently drive and determine whether or not it’s suitable for small children. More often than not, before we have kids, we purchase fast cars with little emphasis on safety, but this is something that obviously needs to change when there are little ones in the home. With that in mind, the post you’re reading through at the moment has been penned with the express intention of offering you some good advice and pointing out some of the models you might like to think about.

Don’t misunderstand us, there are many other good cars you could choose, but this article should help to point you in the right direction. At the end of the day, your choice could have a drastic impact on the chances of your children coming out of an accident unharmed, so this decision shouldn’t be made lightly.

BMW Z4

While this model might look at lot like the BMW M3 to some people, it actually has a vastly improved design and seems more appealing aesthetically too. Cars from this manufacturer have always been heavy, spacious and strong, which is exactly what you’re looking for in a family car. The Z4 will probably set you back at least £10,000 when bought second hand, but as they’re built so brilliantly, a good purchase could last you ten years or more so long as you look after it properly. You could look for one of the private market, or check out some reputable sellers like Big Motoring World BMW if that fails.

Peugeot 308

The only thing that tends to put people off the Peugeot 308 is the sheer amount of them found on our roads today. However, if you feel like that, you’re simply looking at things in the wrong way. There’s so many of them on the road because they’re so reliable. The insurance is cheap; fuel consumption is good, and they’re perfect for keeping the family safe. The best thing though? You can get good second hand versions for less than £3,000, and most of them will serve you well for at least five or six years if you really concentrate on routine maintenance.

Ford Mondeo

You’ll probably remember back in the late 90’s when the Ford Mondeo was released to replace the hugely successful Sierra models that ruled the previous decade. While the Mondeo might not have looked stunning back then, newer editions do, and they also perform exceptionally well. If you have a new child in your family, you’ll probably want to start going on UK beach holidays etc. and this is the perfect car to get you where you need to go. They have incredibly durable engines, and so almost never have to spend time in the garage, but even if they do, the parts are incredibly cheap. This means having to dip into next months food budget will become a thing of the past.

Thanks for reading through this post ladies, we sincerely hope you now have a much better idea about what kind of automobiles you should start looking at now that you’re responsible parents. Good luck with your search, and enjoy being a mom!!
