As I write this, Andy Murray is winning the Men’s Wimbledon final, and for once it’s a sunny day, so we thought what better way to enjoy the day than with a family barbecue?
I was invited to take part in the MoneySupermarket Big Night In competition, where we were challenged to see what we could do with £50 to have a night in.
We haven’t had everyone together for a while, so rather than just spend it on the 3 of us, I decided to invite the family around for a get together. Armed with £50 I headed to Asda to buy supplies for a BBQ for 15 people. What did I get? more than enough for everyone – sausages, burgers, potatoes, ‘firey’ potato wedges, salad, peppers, profiteroles, wine, beer, and of course strawberries & cream! Here’s the fridge before we started cooking:
Baz (our dog) was hanging round the BBQ offering his cooking services, although in the end my dad took over proceedings:
I asked people to get photos for the post, and wanted one of all the food out before everyone tucked in, however this fell on deaf ears so all I could get was a picture of half of the stuff already missing from the plates:
Back to the tennis, Murray was 2 sets up as I started the post:
Everyone seemed to be having a good time, although it actually got too hot (no really!), so we put a gazebo up for some shade:
I’ve sneaked off upstairs to write this post, and also to get out of the worst part of the day, doing the dishes!
