Once you’ve noticed that the obstruction has passed, then run hot water down the sink. If it still hasn’t been cleared, locate the U shaped pipe under the sink and open it ensuring that there’s a bucket below. Although carpets are a soft alternative to wooden floors and considerably cheaper, over time they can quickly start to accumulate stains.
