3 Must-Haves For Your First Baby

People say that the more kids that you have, the better you become at being a parent.  The first baby is still about discovering yourself as a parent and what your limitations are.  Many parents dive head first not knowing what they were in for, some even needing to go to therapy.  The stress can be a lot to handle for someone that wasn’t prepared for the full picture.

In order to avoid a lot of stress on your part, it’s important to get as much advice as you can have.  Therefore, make sure that you have the following items on your checklist for what to make sure you absolutely have before your new little baby comes into the world.

A Nursing Pillow

A nursing pillow may seem like something which isn’t necessary.  However, it makes breastfeeding much more comfortable than it is without.  When you breastfeed with the added support which a breastfeeding pillow provides you are not only more comfortable but your baby is as well.

Even if you don’t breastfeed, it comes in handy for propping your baby up under your supervision or even practicing tummy time.  You will find that you will enjoy its many benefits for well into their 6 months of age.  It’s a purchase well worth the money and you’ll wonder how you could have ever been without it.

A Swing

Babies are used to being moved in the womb.  Since a mother is always moving and talking and breathing they are used to the action which goes on inside of her body.  A common myth about babies is that they like to be still and in silence.  However, this couldn’t be further from the truth.

Babies like to be jiggled and swayed since it reminds them of their original habitat, the womb.  A swing is a great tool for getting your baby to sleep and stay asleep since it feels like they are in their parent’s arms.  While there are many great swings out on the market, opt for one with electric power over battery since you will save yourself a lot on the price of batteries.

A Baby Carrier

A stroller is great and can come in handy when you are in certain situations, however, a baby carrier is a great way to be able to have your baby close and feel comforted by your warm chest.  Not only is it often easier to navigate in crowds in public, but it is also useful at home.

Since most babies love to be held, a carrier can help them feel like they are being held while you’re at home, even though you’re still using your arms to be able to get things done like laundry or dishes.
